Near the Point Penos Lighthouse in Pacific Grove California, you find lots of old Juniper Trees. This lone tree stood out from the scrub hedge separating the lighthouse from the golf links. They say mid-day is a bad time for photography but the shadows and highlights made this scene pop to me.

Been a photographer for more than 50 years. As an Architectural Engineer I love architecture and things mechanical. I am also an avid gardener and flowers are another passion in my photography. As a frustrated artist, I have dabbled in pencil, and charcoal sketches, oil and watercolor paintings, but I settled on photography and digital art to expression my artistic passion. I still dabble of course but I spend more time in Photoshop than at my easel. I hope you enjoy my work.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
